At Scenic Heights Elementary, staff members Courtney Davis and Jason Reader have implemented a program called the "Above and Beyond Award" to recognize teachers and staff who are making a difference at school. They send out an email one week before each staff meeting, and ask for nominations of teammates who are making a difference in the lives of students and staff at the building. At the staff meetings, Courtney and Jason announce the winners and hand out certificates. This is a great way to practice gratitude and make people feel good about the hard work they do every day. Perhaps your school wants to implement the Above and Beyond award. It's a little program that can make a big difference!
